Alamosa
is a pretty little town in the center of the San Luis Valley,
between the San Juan and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain ranges.
It is the primary shopping center, as well as the arts,
culture, entertainment and education center of the San Luis Valley,
which is the world's largest alpine valley.
An hour's drive in any direction will bring you to the
mountains for exceptional recreational opportunities--hiking,
biking, hunting, fishing, bird watching--whatever your heart
desires.
Local area attractions include the Great San Dunes National
Monument, Rio Grande National Forest, Alamosa Wildlife Refuge, the
Rio Grande River, Pike's Stockade, and Narrow-Gauge Engine, Car &
Depot. |
