The Homestead is located on 160 wooded
acres near the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park.
Larry and Cindy Ends built the cottages at The Homestead to
provide a peaceful and relaxing getaway, so that you can
return to your daily life rejuvenated and refreshed. They
welcome guests from all walks of life who are seeking
accommodations where privacy and quiet are treasured. They
believe in always being "available" to assist you in
any way, but to never be "in your way".
The Homestead's five private cottages and
two-bedroom, two-bath house stand in harmony with the ancient
oaks. Natural gardens, meandering rock walls, and clear blue
skies lull you into the slower pace of a mountain retreat.
Inside, the meticulous attention to detail, the warmth of
yellow pine, and the hand-trowelled plaster and saltillo tile
floors grace each cottage with a simple luxury.
The spacious cabins offer vaulted ceilings,
a living room with gas fireplace and satellite television, a
fully equipped kitchen, and dining area. A separate bedroom
with queen-size bed and adjoining bathroom complete your
cottage. Two cottages also have oversized soaking tubs. Your
private porch sitting area draws you outside to enjoy the
twilight and the magical stars. Additional amenities include
air conditioning, a gas barbecue grill, daily maid service,
robes, hairdryers, irons and ironing boards, in-cottage
massages, and concierge assistance.
Enjoy a continental breakfast in the
privacy of your own cottage at any time you want. Your kitchen
is stocked daily with coffees, teas, juice, muffins, and
fruit. After breakfast, venture to the mountain village of
Oakhurst, a 10-minute drive from The Homestead. Here you will
find quaint shops, the latest movies, local plays, major
supermarkets, and small department stores. Elegant dining
awaits you at five-star Erna's Elderberry House, while more
casual and ethnic restaurants are available.
The majority of Homestead guests are
looking for a quiet, romantic getaway to reconnect with that
special person in their life. Many visit for honeymoons and
anniversaries; the romantic ambiance has even spurred
proposals. The Homestead is truly a place where one can just
relax and enjoy nature. Cindy and Larry invite you to join
them and experience a hideaway that flows in tune with
nature's quiet rhythm. |
Outdoor adventurers who love hiking,
horseback riding, and mountain biking yet don't want rustic
appreciate The Homestead's blend of a mountain setting with
luxury accommodations.
Three golf courses challenge players of all
levels, with one course just two minutes down the road.
Many Homestead guests enjoy seeing the
sights of Yosemite and the Sierra Vista Scenic Byway, while
others hardly venture off the Homestead's 160 acres. |
