Nestled in the Valley of the Moon, the Sonoma Chalet is one of the first Bed and Breakfast Inns established in the Sonoma Wine Country.

This quaint Swiss-style farmhouse and country cottages are surrounded by three acres of 100-year-old eucalyptus trees, lawns and flower gardens and overlook a 200-acre ranch. Built in the 1940's, the Chalet is colorfully decorated with hand painted murals throughout the main house and cottages accented by windowbox geraniums.

Farmhouse accommodations vary from two cozy rooms sharing a bath, to a suite with a wood stove, private sitting room, and a view of the hillside. All guest rooms have balconies or decks from which to enjoy the country setting. The three private cottages are decorated with antiques, quilts, and collectibles from a bygone era.

In the morning, hot pastries, fresh fruit, juices, French roast coffee, granolas and yogurt are served in a wonderful country kitchen or in the privacy of your cottage. Fine California pottery from the forties in pastel shades is used for guest service. Weather permitting, the deck provides an excellent setting for morning breakfast.

Located in the heart of the wine country, and near to many famous historical sites, such as the home of General Vallejo, the Vasquez Barracks, and Bear Flag Monument, the Inn is within range of California's oldest premium winery, Buena Vista.
