Built in 1889 for local banker Edward Churchill, Churchill Manor is reputed to be the largest historical home built in the Napa Valley. The magnificent three-story mansion has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Entering through original leaded-glass doors, one discovers four grand parlors, each with an elegant fireplace, carved redwood ceilings and columns, a gorgeous sunroom with an original marble-tiled floor, and one guest room with a fireplace, vintage bathtub, and a two-person shower. On the upper floors are nine more guest bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. Eight have fireplaces, and some have giant antique claw-foot bathtubs and two-person showers. Each is decorated with an individual theme.

The entire home is furnished with lovely antiques, oriental rugs, brass and crystal chandeliers, a grand piano in the music room, and a large TV/VCR with movies, puzzles, and games in the game room.

After breakfast, you can take advantage of the complimentary tandem bicycles for touring Old Town Napa or play croquet on the expansive lawns.

Churchill Manor rests on an acre of beautifully landscaped grounds and is surrounded by a sweeping veranda supported by large white columns. Concealed from the street by tall private hedges, the manor's grounds include mature trees, lush flower beds, colorful tree roses, verdant manicured lawns, and a formal fountain.

Guests at the Manor enjoy coffee and tea along with fresh-baked cookies every afternoon, a two-hour evening reception featuring varietal wines with cheese and crackers, and a full gourmet breakfast including fresh-baked muffins and croissants, an abundance of fresh fruits, and made-to-order omelets or French toast -- all complimentary with stay.
