Plantation Bed and Breakfast is the perfect
complement for your visit to the lakes and mountains of
California's Sierra Nevada Mountains, Sequoia National Park
and Kings Canyon National Park.
Originally known as Mesa Verde Citrus
Plantation in the early 1900's, this lovely Inn sits on one
and a half acres, a remaining portion of what was originally a
large orange grove at the turn of the century. Here you can
stroll among the orange trees, pick some oranges or pluck
avocados while you enjoy mountain views.
Guest accommodations at the Plantation
include seven romantic rooms with private baths. Some guest
rooms also feature fireplaces and a whirlpool tub. The
Plantation theme is carried out with the rooms named after
characters from Gone With the Wind. You can reside in
Scarlett O'Hara's room, luxurious in cream and lace with a
king bed, French doors to the veranda, fireplace and whirlpool
tub and separate shower in it's private bath. Or try the Rhett
Butler with a gold clawfoot tub and attached shower in the
room as well as a massive, four-poster queen bed decorated in
a manly burgundy, forest green and paisley. Other rooms
reflect the same spirit, comfort and luxury as these two.
As a guest at the Plantation, you can wake
up each morning to sunshine, the sound of chirping birds, and
the smell of coffee brewing. Take a seat in the elegant dining
room or sit outside in the courtyard garden and feast on a
lavish gourmet breakfast while watching hummingbirds feast on
the trumpet vines. Breakfast begins with fresh squeezed orange
juice, fruits from the local fields, and homemade granola, and
ends with Chef Marie's hot entree of the day.
No matter what time of year, the Plantation
Bed and Breakfast is the ultimate gateway to the rugged beauty
and unique wilderness of central California. |
Soak in the hot tub under the brilliant
stars at night, in the romantic privacy of the orange grove.
Watch the sun rise and set from the verandas. Curl up by a
cozy fire in the parlor with a book, game, or movie from the
Plantation's extensive collection.
Other activities abound in the region. The
crown jewels of this area are the breathtaking Sequoia
National Park and Kings Canyon National Parks, which are at
your doorstep. Go hiking, white water rafting, or
cross-country skiing. Taste some of California's famous wines.
Try golf or miniature golf. Go boating, fishing, or skiing on
the blue waters of Lake Kaweah or simply enjoy shopping and
dining along scenic Highway 198. |
