The Lost Whale Inn is a romantic bed and
breakfast located on a majestic cliff and nestled on four
gorgeous acres of rugged Northern California coast.
Breathtaking ocean views and gentle breezes renew the spirit
of what a vacation is all about: escape and solitude.
This warm Cape Cod-style Inn boasts of huge
windows and skylights, relaxing decks, and elegant wood
flooring and trim. If you are bringing your children, simply
relax on the deck as they have the run of the enclosed
grounds, pick berries near the greenhouse, or have fun in the
playground and playhouse. You can also chat with other guests
as you lounge in the living room, or curl up in front of a
fire with a book.
The six guest rooms at the Inn, each with
private bath, are beautifully furnished and wonderfully quiet.
Four of the rooms have outstanding ocean views, while two
overlook the elaborate gardens. Two of the ocean-view rooms
have sleeping lofts for older children or an extra adult, and
one of the garden-view rooms can sleep a family of four or
three adults.
Wake to the barking of sea lions and
crashing waves. Open the window to fresh salt spray and the
smell of pine. The only rival to nature's refreshing smells is
the promising aroma of breakfast. Indulge in a bountiful
gourmet fare of casseroles, frittatas, cobblers, coffee cakes,
and scones. A different five-course meal awaits you each
morning. In the afternoon, partake in an afternoon tea of
wine, pastries, and fruit.
When you return to The Lost Whale Inn at
the end of the day, soak in the hot tub as you watch a
glorious sunset and reflect upon this refreshing break from
your fast-paced life. |
Explore the Inn's two-mile private cove
with its tide pools, sea lions, birds, and migrating gray
whales. Thousands of acres of hiking trails offer Northern
California recreation where you can watch migrating whales,
picnic in the woods, or hunting for jade and agate on Agate
Beach, all just minutes away from the inn. Don't miss hiking
through the majestic redwoods in Redwood National Park and
Prairie Creek State Park, only twenty minutes away to the
north. Your hosts can arrange ocean and river fishing,
horseback or mountain bike riding through the woods, or river
rafting excursions. |
