Once a convent and now a captivating Bed and Breakfast, The
Jabberwock is a cozy and warm hotel alternative located in
magnificent Monterey. Take in the sounds of the waves and
barking seals, delight in the beauty of California's
coastline, or stroll along famous Cannery Row. Your hosts,
John Hickey and Dawn Perez, welcome you into their home, where
you will be treated with all of the special luxuries and
warmth you would expect. Every thought has been given to make
you feel comfortable and pampered.
As you enter The Jabberwock and proceed through the common
rooms to your very private bedroom, you will be transported "Through
the Looking Glass" into a wonderland of goose-down
pillows and comforters, huge Victorian beds with lace-trimmed
sheets, and fresh flowers in every room. You'll choose from
seven well-appointed guest rooms, four of which have
fireplaces and three with the added feature of Jacuzzis for
two. You will be swept away by the gorgeous views most rooms
offer of the bay and the inn's private gardens. In chambers
decorated in soothing tones of soft creams, blues, and peach,
your night's sleep will be a sound one.
Wake up to special breakfast aromas, which may be enjoyed
with the other guests by the fireplace in the comfortable
dining room, or served in the privacy of your own room. Every
evening at 5:00, the ringing bell beckons you to enjoy
tantalizingly prepared hors d'oeuvres on the enclosed veranda,
overlooking Monterey Bay and the inn's half acre estate
gardens.
Just below the inn is an extraordinary
walking/jogging/biking path meandering along the bay where
you'll spend memorable moments escaping into old-fashioned
charm and history.
Whether you sip aperitifs and watch the sun set on Monterey
Bay or sit by the babbling falls in the garden, you are sure
to create lasting memories at The Jabberwock Inn. |
There is much to do in this famous seaside town of Monterey,
beginning with renowned Cannery Row, Fisherman's Wharf, and
the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Other attractions that make the Monterey Peninsula popular
the world over include nearby Carmel, the Seventeen Mile Drive
in Pebble Beach, and the most beautiful golf courses in the
world.
A short drive brings you to wonderful Big Sur, where you can
dine, relax, and enjoy the thundering surf. Hiking the many
seaside and mountain trails in this scenic wonderland is also
a favored activity.
Make time, too, for simply slowing down. Refresh your
acquaintanceship with not so bookish characters Tweedle Dee
and Tweedle Dumb and others of Lewis Carroll's provocative
imagination. Or, ... you may want to play chess or other board
games by the cozy fireplace in the living room or on the
comfortable wraparound sun porch overlooking Fern Falls and
Monterey Bay. |
