Ingredients:

1-1/2 cups sifted flour

1/2 cup plus 2 Tablespoons shortening

3/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 Tablespoon milk or water

Ingredients for Filling:

3 eggs

3/4 cup sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1 teaspoon grated lemon or orange peel

1-1/2 Tablespoons flour

1-1/2 cups sour cream

1 Tablespoon lemon juice

1-1/2 cup dark or golden raisins

Sweetened whipped cream

Mix together flour and salt, cut in shortening to make coarse crumbs. Add milk a little at a time until pastry is moistened. Shape into a ball and roll into an 11-inch circle. Fit into a 9-inch springform pan or tart pan with removable bottom. Flute rim of shell. Add filling.

Filling: Beat eggs until fluffy, then stir in all ingredients except whipped cream. Mix well and turn into pastry-lined pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes or until barely set in the center. Cool and garnish with sweetened cream.

Serves: 8
