Nipomo is a small city on
coastal Highway 101, between Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Weekend travelers recognize Nipomo for its hillside swap meet
located on the west side of the freeway.
Golfer come here for the
Black Lake Golf Course. Central Coast's only 27 hole golf resort,
the course is open to the public and features three - nine hole
challenges for golfers of all skill levels along scenic coastal
hills.
Nipomo Native Gardens,
located at Camino Caballo and Pomeroy, is a forest of native
plants and trees, maintained by volunteers from the society of the
same name. Drop by the library on Teft Street to get a copy of
their latest newsletter plus many valuable community information
flyers, pamphlets and brochures.
Visit historic landmark of
the Dana Adobe, the historical home of Captain Dana. He became a
Mexican citizen in 1835 and eventually received a land grant of
more than 37,000 acres at Nipomo, which later become San Luis
Obispo County. |
