La Quinta is nestled at
the base of the majestic Santa Rosa Mountains, just 19 miles
southeast of Palm Springs and 120 miles east of Los Angeles. Once
referred to by the Cahuilla Indians as the "Land of the
Eternal Sun," the area now known as La Quinta is rich in
history dating back hundreds of years.
Sunny, warm clear days
combined with cool evenings make the this area one of America's
most sought after winter destinations. Winter evenings are cool
while summer evenings are pleasantly warm. With virtually no more
than 15-20 days of rainfall in any given year, outdoor activities
can be accommodated year-round.
Many Hollywood stars and
famous people such as Frank Capra, Bette Davis, Clark Gable, Errol
Flynn, Katherine Hepburn, Eddie Cantor, Greta Garbo, and Shirley
Temple came here to relax. |
