Kenwood is in the heart of
the Sonoma County wine country on Highway 12 about half way
between Santa Rosa and the town of Sonoma. Kenwood is 50 miles
northeast of San Francisco, 40 miles east of Bodega Bay and the
ocean, and 30 miles west of Napa.
Wine and dine is the
highlighted activity in this lovely area with many find and renown
wineries and vineyards closeby.
Around Kenwood you can
find excellent state parks. Sugarloaf Ridge State Park contains
the headwaters of Sonoma Creek. It runs through gorge and canyon,
across the meadow floor, beneath scenic rock outcroppings, and is
surrounded at times by redwoods and ferns. Annadel State Park,
located on the western edge of Kenwood offers miles of trails for
hiking, mountain biking, and trail riding, and Jack London State
Historic Park is part of his former estate. |
