people think that the desert area is flat, dry land. But
California's desert area encompasses the San Bernardino
Mountains, lakes and high desert. Basically the whole
southeastern part of the state. Big Bear Lake and Lake
Arrowhead offer lots of natural beauty and recreation from
fishing, to boating, hiking and mountain biking. The lake
provides exceptional fishing, sailing, water skiing,
wakeboarding, parasailing, canoeing and kayaking. There are
lovely lakeside wooded parks, numerous private boat rental
marinas and boat-launch ramps.
Bed
and Breakfasts here are country mountain lodges and
small inns. The high desert is a sun bathers paradise and a
golfers dream including Palm Springs, La Quinta and
Ridgecrest. The Coachella Valley has rock climbing and
horseback riding as well as tennis, golf and swimming.
