The Alisal Guest
Ranch and Resort, tucked away in a quiet corner of the
picturesque Santa Ynez Valley, is a rare find -- a place where
time seems reluctant to move forward.
What began in the
late 1700's as a land grant to conquistador Raimundo Carrillo
has been a working cattle ranch and secluded, relaxing
hideaway since 1946.
The resort is
comprised of 73 guest units configured into either comfortable
studios or spacious two-room suites, all decorated in classic
California ranch design. Each unit is designed with your
comfort and privacy in mind. Special touches include a
wood-burning fireplace with complimentary firewood, a
refrigerator with ice maker, a coffee maker (coffee and tea
supplied in rooms), iron and board, hair dryer, clock radio
and High Speed Internet access. Public and house phones as
well as televisions are located all over the property. Touches
of Spanish tile and fine western art are present throughout,
and all cottages offer peaceful front porches with delightful
garden views.
The Modified
American Plan offered at The Alisal, with breakfast and dinner
included in your stay, promises to never let you walk away
from the table hungry or disappointed. Breakfast is a lavish
buffet brimming with fresh fruit, hot, baked breads,
mouth-watering entrees, and refreshing juices. Choose your
favorite lunch time at any of the four convenient restaurants
at the Ranch. Dinner provides a time for guests to dress up
and savor the ranch-size samplings. A lounge is available for
before and after drinks as well as nightly entertainment and
dancing.
Children are always
welcome at The Alisal, with arts and crafts, talent shows,
storytelling, hay rides, and sing-alongs available for younger
guests. Youngsters who are interested in horses can wind
around on special safety-conscious trail rides, participate in
riding lessons and mini-rodeos, or even learn to care for and

The Alisal offers

The Alisal ranks among the best. Two 18-hole championship
courses are located on the premises, each with a distinctive
