Martine Inn resides high on the cliffs of
Pacific Grove overlooking the rocky coastline of Monterey Bay.
Here you can indulge yourself with
spectacular views, enchanting room and memorable service. Most
of the furnishings in this lavishly restored mansion are
museum-quality, with a preference for American antiques from
1800 through 1890. A spa was installed in the original
conservatory. Guests are astonished by the splendid recreation
of this 1890's gem.
Each of the 24 guest accommodations has a
private bathroom, a fresh rose, a telephone, and a silver
Victorian bridal basket filled with fresh fruit. Many of the
rooms have fireplaces or wood burning stoves and spectacular
views of the waves crashing against the rocks below. Decorated
with a vision, each room has a distinctive personality from
the Nouveau French four piece bedroom set of the Art Deco Room
to the 1860's Chippendale revival bedroom set found in the
Parke Suite. No matter what the room, guests are fast to
observe the quality, love and attention given to each. Special
touches are numerous and include claw footed tubs, mahogany or
marble fireplaces, four poster beds, Victorian wall paper,
rich fabric, and elaborate color schemes. And each night
before you go to sleep, enjoy a chocolate placed on your
pillow for sweet dreams.
Adjacent to Martine Inn is a Victorian
cottage with a luxury suite. This Victorian getaway features a
corner stone fireplace and 5-piece 1865 fingermold Fall asleep
with the sound of waves outside the windows while cozying up
in an antique, king size, 1820's Eastlake, walnut bed with
marble topped matching dresser and night stands with milk
glass electrified kerosene lamps on each side.
Read in the library, sunbathe in the
landscaped enclosed courtyard, or watch whales, sea otters,
and sail boat races from the parlor or sitting rooms. Play
pool in the game room or lounge in the spa. View vintage cars
from Martine's collection.
Awake to the newspaper placed outside your
door. Savor a full breakfast served on old Sheffield silver,
Victorian-style china, crystal and lace. Picnic lunch baskets
are available on request at an additional cost. Join other
guests in the parlor for twilight wine and hors d'oeuvres...
the wine list is impressive. |
