Cheshire Cat is a Santa Barabara bed and breakfast inn and cottages.

Soothe those aching muscles in the hot spa or with a facial or massage or enjoy the unparalleled privacy of the Queen of Hearts patio.

The sunny, warm weather of Southern California makes outdoor activities extremely inviting. Take a hike, play tennis, practice your golf, or walk along the beach, all within three miles from the Inn. If you enjoy the water, kayaking, sailing, fishing, swimming, or whale watching are all available choices. When you have worked up an appetite, just one block away is the wonderful main street of Santa Barbara filled with exceptional restaurants, shops, and theaters.

Built originally by the Eberle Family in 1894, these two side-by-side graceful Victorians have housed many happy travelers and distinguished guests, including President McKinley. The Cheshire Cat Inn, carefully restored in 1984, is situated close to the beach and to the lovely main street of Santa Barbara, California, making it a lovely hotel alternative. Your hosts have provided modern convenience and welcoming ambiance while continuing to maintain the Inn's classic architectural style.

As you might guess, the theme of the bed and breakfast inn comes from the delightful English Classic, Alice in Wonderland. Fourteen rooms, with the exception of two, are named after the characters in the book. Decorated with wallpapers and draperies by Laura Ashley and antiques shipped over from England, the Inn reflects charm and romance. Relax and enjoy one of the sunny guest rooms. Each lodging accommodation is unique with its own individual charm and ranges from elegant to whimsical. Some are larger split-level junior suites with private balconies, some have in-room Jacuzzis and fireplaces, and others have additional modern amenities that include TV/VCRs and kitchens with stocked refrigerators. All rooms have private baths and direct dial phones. The Tweedledum Suite is a unique two-room luxurious hideaway, sequestered in the Coach House overlooking the gardens. Three new vacation rental cottages, each individually furnished, are wonderful for extended stays and greater privacy.

Indulge in a delicious gourmet breakfast served on Wild Strawberry Wedgewood china, either outside on the flowered filled brick patio or in the privacy of your own room. Coddled eggs, seasonal fruits, juices, cereals, and steaming coffee and teas make a perfect way to start the day. In the afternoons local wines, French brie, dips and crudites are served on the large oak table in the elegant dining room.
