The McCloud River Mercantile Hotel is located in the
historic downtown district of McCloud, nestled on the southern
slope of Mount Shasta, California.

Meticulously restored with period specific details from the
1890s to the 1940s, the guest rooms are spacious and uniquely
luxurious with plenty of high class amenities. All of the
California hotel rooms at McCloud River Mercantile 12' high
ceilings and modern comforts including king or queen size
beds, feather down comforters, private baths with whirlpool or
claw foot tubs, and exquisite designs. Several of the guest
rooms have double vanities and a separate water closet.
Bathroom floors have radiant heat to keep your feet warm
during the winter months. Some rooms also have a fireplace and
sitting areas. Two suites are handicap accessible for
disabled guests or seniors. The hotel has an elevator and
handicapped ramp.
A full breakfast is served with every room, and fresh
flowers greet you upon your arrival.
Restaurants and shops are located on the first floor of the
Mercantile including The White Mountain Fountain, a 1930s era
soda fountain café with breakfast, lunch, and a
nostalgic fountain and desert menu. The Sugar Pine Candy, The
McCloud River Mercantile Co., Shasta Reflections Boutique, and
the Book Gallery are great place to wander through and shop.
The second floor of the Mercantile features the Great Room
where receptions, wedding parties, yoga retreats, seminars,
art exhibits, and business conferences can be hosted. The
hotel is next to the Shasta Sunset Dinner Train. |
Nestled against the base of Mount Shasta, McCloud presents
countless opportunities to visitors interested in sight
seeing, special tours, unique fishing experiences, and winter
sports activities. With easy access from highway 89, it is
also part of the Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway All American
Road. The hotel is just a 15-minute drive to Mt. Shasta City
and Lake Siskiyou.
McCloud is the closest town to the Shasta Ski and Board Park
and Mt. Shasta Nordic Center. The hotel is also within 5 miles
of the famed McCloud River, McCloud Waterfalls, and the
