Bed and Bagels of Tucson is an Arizona bed
and breakfast inn with special amenities for pets, children,
birdwatchers, and business travelers.
Lovingly run by psychologist and Alzheimer
researcher Sharon Arkin, you will enjoy a mix of familiar and
unusual breakfasts, homebaked treats, comfortable lodging
accommodations, kitchen and laundry privileges, fax, guest
computer, and DSL/wireless Internet connections.
Common rooms offer comfort and convenience
during your stay. Furnishings include an eclectic mix of
antique, modern, and foreign and domestic hand-crafted pieces
plus Chinese, Indian, and Navajo area rugs. Much of the art
featured in the house was collected during the innkeeper's
travels in the U.S., Europe, Africa, Israel, South America,
and Mexico. The living room is a quiet television-free and
dog-free zone for reading, relaxing, playing games, or
birdwatching. The family room, adjacent to the kitchen, is
where folks gather to watch television, help themselves to a
hot or cold beverage, or have a snack.
Guest rooms, each uniquely decorated,
provide a private and peaceful stay. Two rooms with queen-size
beds have access to two baths down the hall, while a
king-bedded room boasts a private bath as well as a private
exit to the patio/pool/Jacuzzi area. Terry bathrobes, phones,
and television with VCRs are included in each room. Wireless
Internet access throughout.
After a restful night's sleep, you may
enjoy several breakfast options. You might be served lox and
bagels with all the fixings one day, and baked polenta with
portobello mushroom sauce or French toast with fresh blueberry
sauce the next. If you prefer to sleep late and help yourself,
you might find a ready-to-heat artichoke and cheese casserole,
a chilled bowl of black cherry and yogurt soup, or an Israeli
or Mexican salad plate. Juice, fresh fruit, eggs, breakfast
meats, cold and hot cereal, specialty breads and spreads,
yogurt, coffee, tea, and chocolate chip cookies or other
home-baked treats are always available, and breakfasts to go
for early morning bird watching or hiking trips are a
specialty.
Guests will find endless recreation and
sightseeing opportunities around Tucson. The Arizona Sonora
Desert Museum is also a must-see, more of a zoo and botanical
garden than a museum experience, with rare specimens of flora
and fauna.
Come experience breathtaking beauty and
relaxing recreation, combined with extraordinary decor and
comfort, at Bed and Bagels of Tucson Bed and Breakfast. |
The freedom to come and go and do as you
please helps Bed and Bagels of Tucson, often referred to as "Camp
Sharon", stand apart from the rest. The kitchen, laundry
room, and refrigerator are available for guest use. A patio
with umbrella table and barbecue grill is accessible from the
kitchen and family room. The pool and hot tub are protected by
a six-foot safety fence with a latch that is out of children's
reach, and there is a fenced-in area for dogs and a litter box
for visiting cats.
Sharon, your host, is a longtime member of
the Tucson Audubon Society, and Bed and Bagels of Tucson has
multiple seed and hummingbird feeders on the premises, as well
as current schedules of free guided birding trips, field
guides, binoculars, and copies of the local birders' bible,
Finding Birds in Southeast Arizona.
Guests seeking outdoor beauty will want to
visit Upper Tanque Verde Falls and Saguaro East National Park,
providing miles of trails on which to explore gorgeous,
secluded canyons and Sonoran desert landscapes. Recreation can
also be found at the nearby Udall Park and Recreation Center
or the exclusive Club La Mariposa, two of Tucson's best-kept
secrets for swimming, jogging, and tennis. |
