Ann and Fife's Lasagne

Ingredients

2 pounds extra-lean ground beef

1 large onion, chopped

1 clove garlic, minced

6 bay leaves, remove after cooking

Two 12-ounce cans of water

One 12-ounce can of tomato sauce

Garlic, oregano, and basil to taste

12 lasagna noodles

1 cup cottage cheese

1/2 cup grated mozzarella

1/4 cup grated Parmesan

Cook everything but noodles and cheese together for about an hour. Boil noodles 20 minutes and rinse in cold water. In glass dish (16 x 11 x 12 inches) place six noodles. Spread half of the sauce and half of each of the three cheeses in the the dish. Repeat with another layer of noodles and top with remainder of sauce and cheese. Cover with foil, place on cookie sheet, and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Let stand 20 minutes before serving.
