Nestled atop Lookout Mountain, in DeKalb County, Alabama,
rests a beautiful and quaint little town. Its name, Mentone, comes
from a French word meaning 'musical mountain spring'. Natures
music is heard everywhere from the beautiful rush of DeSoto Falls
to the gentle rustle of blooming Dogwood in the spring. In fact
some say that this part of Alabama has more wild flowers than any
other place in the world.
Humans make pretty good
music in this neck-of-the-woods too. Visit the Country Band,
Alabama's Fan Club and Museum while you're there or attend one of
the many festivals with fiddle and banjo strummin' to serenade
your vacation musings. |
