Frosted Almond Scones

- Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 Tablespoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/3 cup jam or dried fruit of your choice
- 1 teaspoon pure almond extract
- 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons white sugar
- Frosting:
- 1 cup confectioner's sugar
- 1 Tablespoon milk (more if needed to thin)
- 1/2 teaspoon pure almond extract
Mix together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter,
milk, jam or dried fruit, and 1 teaspoon almond extract. Lightly
knead dough on floured surface and pat into 1/2-inch thick rounds.
Combine cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle scones with mixture. Bake
at 450 degrees for 7 to 10 minutes (do not over-bake).
Combine frosting ingredients and frost scones while they are
warm.
