Best Ever Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

4 cups flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/8 teaspoon salt

3 eggs

1 cup shortening

2 cups sugar

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup buttermilk

1 Tablespoon vanilla

Grease and flour cookies sheet. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Cream together eggs, shortening, and sugar. Stir baking soda into buttermilk and mix alternately with dry ingredients into creamed mixture. Stir in vanilla. Drop on cookies sheet and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 375 degrees for 7 to 9 minutes.

Makes: About 5 dozen big cookies.
