Located in an area
which has the look and feel of New England, The White Oak Inn
Bed and Breakfast is a warm haven nestled in the rolling hills
of the Walhonding Valley in Ohio.
This
turn-of-the-century farmhouse offers seven inn rooms, three
guesthouse rooms, and two luxury cottages. All lodging
accommodations are designed with your comfort and relaxation
in mind.
The Inn rooms
feature the original oak woodwork and have queen or double
beds and bathrooms with showers. The White Oak Room
on the ground floor features a two-person whirlpool tub and a
fireplace.
If snuggling in bed
by the firelight while listening to a gentle rain tapping on
the tin roof sounds romantic to you, then you will love the
Guest House Rooms, offering privacy and
seclusion just a short stroll from the inn. Each has a
high-backed queen-sized bed, fireplace, and private bath with
tub and shower.
The two log
cabin-constructed luxury cottages offer the ultimate in
romance and seclusion. The living rooms feature fireplaces,
entertainment centers, seating areas, and two-person whirlpool
tubs with a view of the woods. Snack areas have refrigerators,
microwaves, coffeemakers, and bar sinks. Each has a private
deck on the back, and one has a wheelchair ramp.
A generous full
breakfast is served each morning. Breakfast is made from
farm-fresh eggs and local meats with your choice of juice and
a warm-from-the-oven muffin or scone. A different breakfast
dish, such as stuffed French Toast or Broccoli Cheddar Strata,
is served each day. Fresh fruit, freshly brewed coffee, and
hot teas accompany each meal. |
Numerous attractions
are within a short drive of The White Oak Inn, including
Ohio's Amish area, famous for cheeses, furniture, and quilts.
Roscoe Village offers a glimpse into life in a 19th-century
canal town, with living history demonstrations, a museum,
canal boat rides, and quaint shops and restaurants.
The Kokosing Gap
Trail is a 14-mile paved rails-to-trails for cycling or
hiking. You can tour the manufacturing facility at Longaberger
Baskets, or try your hand at weaving your own in the Crawford
Barn. Other places of interest nearby include the Kenyon
College campus and Mount Vernon's antique stores and historic
district. |
