Cougar Ranch is a spacious, custom home located on 160 acres
about seven miles from the Missoula airport in an area of
western Montana known as Evaro.
This open-beamed, 5,000-square-foot home boasts a 20-foot,
free-standing stone fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows
offering a sensational views of the Mission Mountain Range and
the valley. Offering both bed and breakfast and vacation
rental lodging, the ranch borders an acclaimed national
forest, and a quiet stream runs through the acreage. Deer and
coyote are occasional visitors.
You are guaranteed a restful stay in one of Cougar Ranch's
five guest rooms, two of which offer open-beamed ceilings. All
accommodations have large private baths and quiet privacy. Two
rooms, one with a private outside entrance and sitting room,
offer California king beds, open-beamed ceilings, and private
baths with sunken tubs. The remaining rooms each have either a
queen bed or two double beds.
After a full gourmet breakfast including French omelettes,
cheese souffle, crepes, home-made breads and jams, fresh
fruit, croissants, fresh ground coffee, yogurt, Montana
granola, and trout, you may enjoy a hike along the stream
through the woods, or in the winter, go cross-country skiing.
Snow Bowl and Marshall Mountain ski resorts are minutes away
and offer intermediate to expert downhill skiing. In the
spring and summer, white-water rafting can be arranged with a
local guide, and horseback trips are available as well.
Mountain bike rentals are available, and the ranch is bordered
by endless miles of mountain roads and trails. Fall is an
exceptional time to see the Rocky Mountains, when Indian
Summer (after the first frost) brings blue skies and golden
colors.

Missoula, a mecca for internationally famous writers, is
home to the University of Montana and benefits from many
cultural events year-round, including concerts, theater
productions, and international conferences. A major
snowmobiling event is staged each winter at Marshall Mountain,
just two miles from Missoula, with races held through the
weekend.
A half-hour drive away, the National Bison Range provides
the opportunity to see a variety of wild animals in their
natural habitat. A bit further north is Flathead Lake, the
largest body of fresh water in the United States after the
Great Lakes. Glacier National Park is located about 130 miles
north of Missoula, while Yellowstone Park is about 150 miles
south.
