| Oklahoma is wide
open plains, lakes vacation destinations with all kinds of
water sports, fishing, hunting, and citifying in its large
cities of Oklahoma City and Tulsa. What began as Tulsee Town
in 1836 under a sturdy oak tree, which still stands today at
18th and Cheyenne Streets, is today the second largest city
in Oklahoma. Tulsa is a cosmopolitan town that appeals to
both young families and retirees. National touring
exhibitions can be seen at the Philbrook Museum of Art For
great western art, check out the Gilcrease Museum, and music
legends are commemorated at Oklahoma's Jazz Hall of Fame.
Don't miss the Will Rogers Museum while your in this state.
While much of Central Oklahoma was settled in one day during
the Land Run of 1889 it takes much more than a day to see it
all. This country is rich in Western flavor, pioneer
heritage, small-town charm and big-city Oklahoma City that
is. Make way for the mountains - ancient granite mountains
that rise high out of the plains in Southwestern Oklahoma. A
rugged, romantic land that tells tales of Indian legends and
hidden outlaw treasures, and offers some of Oklahoma's most
vibrant sunsets. |
