The casually elegant Restaurant & Tavern at The Egremont Inn resides in heart of the Southern Berkshires of Massachusetts.

Opened by restaurateurs and innkeepers Steve and Karen Waller seven years ago, the restaurant at this quintessential country inn serves mouth-watering American fare. Two menus are offered: one for casual dining in the Tavern plus a more sophisticated menu for the formal dining room. You'll enjoy service on the fabulous wraparound porch in the summer and cozy fireside dining during the fall and winter months. Special dietary needs will be accommodated. The staff are very pleased that the Inn has again received an Award for Excellence from the Wine Spectator.

The kitchen staff is lead by two extremely competent and well respected Chefs.
Jonathan Taufman joined The Egremont Inn staff directly from Ansonia in Manhattan. He has also worked with Michael Powers of California Cafe fame and Pam Oddy at West Street Grill in Boston. A Culinary Institute of America graduate, Jon finds unique challenge in perfecting the delicate balance of refined preparation and creative presentation of Classic Country American cuisine. With all preparations done fresh at the Inn, Jon uses only superior quality ingredients to prepare some of the most outstanding food in the Berkshires.

Vanessa Cortesi, from the Union Square Cafe with Michael Romano in Manhattan, The Harvest in Cambridge Massachusetts, and Gramercy Tavern in New York, brings an exceptional palate; an innate sense of textures and sensual presence to the menus offered at the Inn. She has a natural gift for creating dishes of depth in both flavor and textural interest. Vanessa is a CIA graduate who is wonderfully successful in combining her Italian heritage with Continental techniques to produce superb dishes.

South Egremont has plenty of activities that are exciting, interesting and sure to give you a healthy appetite by dinner. The area offers outstanding theater, music, classic and popular concerts. Tanglewood is the summer home of The Boston Symphony. Enjoy dance, extensive antiquing, hiking, cycling, cross-country and downhill skiing, museums, and wonderful shopping in specialty and craft boutiques and at the new outlet mall in Lee.
