Named after the region where it is grown, Café Cartago is a high altitude Strictly Hard Bean (SHB) arabica coffee grown on our finca (farm) in Costa Rica. A number of years ago, we discovered that our coffee had a very distinct and special flavor. Now, after years of labor and effort, we are one of the few fincas in Costa Rica that can proudly boast that we are also a beneficio. In other words, we grow, process and export our coffee as well as our neighbor's, to anywhere in the world.

Café Cartago supplies a premium, European grade, Costa Rican gourmet coffee. It is 100% "pure", not blended and is grown only on our fine finca at an elevation of 4,500 feet on the southern slope of the Irazu Volcano. Our coffee trees flourish in the rich fertile volcanic soil steeped with nourishing minerals. Café Cartago is organically grown and processed in the traditional way. It's hand-picked, sun dried, sorted, bagged, then shipped to the high altitude and dry climate of Colorado for storage and roasting.
